Issues

Brian wants to be re-elected to serve on the school board to ensure that there is continued focus on the district’s strategic plan, planning for the continued growth of the district and academic performance, with an emphasis on the recovery of learning loss due to COVID19. I will continue to make my decisions based on what is best for our students and staff, while being mindful of our budget and tax levy. I want all students, which includes my own children, to receive a superior educational foundation and life development skills from the Papillion La Vista Community Schools. He will also focus on the recruitment and retention of a highly qualified diverse staff who will foster a positive environment based in relationships.  He will use his business expertise in forecasting, planning and analysis to support the superintendent and staff to assist in these matters.  The district must remain competitive in salaries and benefits, growth opportunities, and provide the proper technology and learning environments to ensure the retention and recruitment of the top professionals and staff.  If the district does not address this crucial issue, they will not be able to adequately support the current needs of the students nor support the future growth of the district.

As a proud Monarch Marching Band alumni, Brian fully supports the arts in schools. He believes the arts provide additional opportunities for students to develop skills and passions that will benefit them in the future.

The role of a member of the Board of Education is to collaborate with all stakeholders within the district to develop, revise and adopt clearly defined policies that align with the purpose, direction and values of the Papillion La Vista Community Schools.  The Board also has a fiduciary responsibility to the stakeholders of the district.

My philosophy of education is to create an all-inclusive learning environment that encourages students to be active participants in the learning process.  Students and teachers should be provided with the best tools and resources available to ensure students are learning and developing the skills required to be contributing members of society throughout their years in the Papillion La Vista Community Schools and after graduation.  Retaining and recruitment of educators with the Papillion La Vista Community Schools is paramount to the success of the entire district.
